I’m Rachel; dancer, writer, and DIY-crafter! I recently earned my B.F.A in Dance from The Boston Conservatory. I’ve become very interested in writing about dance, and hope to contribute my voice towards speaking eloquently and intelligently about this often misrepresented or inaccessible art form. Most recently, I spent a few months in New York City interning in the Education department at American Ballet Theatre! Now, I’m writing from my hometown in Georgia, and can’t wait to see where my dancing-teaching-writing-crafting life goes next!
At age seven, I started taking ballet lessons and never stopped. I fell in love with the beautiful costumes and jewelry I saw in ballet productions, and finally decided to recreate some of my favorite pieces at home. As I learned and invented new tricks, using craft materials available at local craft and jewelry supply stores, I started amassing a collection of tiaras and headpieces. From here, I expanded to everyday headbands and accessories. But don’t think I stopped there; greeting cards, flowers, and practical gifts are all in the queue.
I strive to fill every day with things and people I love, and started this blog to share these with you. This is my playground, of sorts, to share my creations and experiences, ranging from my interest in dance, to my crafts, to Harry Potter fandom topics and Paleo/gluten free recipes. Perhaps it’s a bit eclectic, but I think that life is best lived with some variety.
